FLANDREAU, SD (KELO.com) — The trial for the man accused of killing Moody County Chief Deputy Sheriff Ken Prorok two years ago is being delayed. The judge in the case denied a similar request in April but granted it yesterday over the objections of Attorney General Marty Jackley. Jackley said continuances are hard on victims’ families, but he also needs to recognize that the Defense has an expert who hasn’t been able to complete work that is key to the case, “so there just needs to be a delay until that work is done.” Jackley says the length of that delay could be clarified at a hearing later this month.
