SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) – Sioux Falls residents are weighing in on a proposed city budget for next year.
The nearly 800-million-dollar budget was presented during its first reading on Tuesday at the city council chambers.
City leaders have been building the 2027 budget months before new Mayor Christine Erickson and three new city council members even took office.
It includes funding for a new aquarium at the Great Plains Zoo and purchasing of public land once Smithfield Foods moves out of its eastside location.
The second reading will take place September 8th.
