PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) – Campaigns are making their final pushes with a barrage of election text messages.
The text ads from parties, political action committees and candidates should be ending right after the election.
University of South Dakota Professor of Gender and Public Policy Julia Hellwege says the campaigns are turning to texts because they are more efficient than other methods of campaigning.
Hellwege says the messages are cost-effective and get directly to the individuals they need to get to.
Polls in South Dakota will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
