SIOUX FALLS, SD, (KELO.com) — 2020 has been a hard year with the coronavirus pandemic disrupting everyone’s lives around the world.
Economies were no exception.
When the pandemic hit, social economies had to think about innovative solutions to help the recovery process around the world.
Nearly 3.3 billion people around the world were at risk of losing their jobs and livelihood.
With a lack of social protection, people were losing access to healthcare, and lockdowns panicked people trying to feed their families.
Some families were forced into poverty because of the working members dying of the disease.
The pandemic causes economic and social distress, but with working vaccines around the corner, economies will be able to build themselves back up and move forward and be more prepared to help people if another word pandemic, or something similar, occurs once again.
