PF is MATCHING June Donations on top of their Truckload of Milk Gift to FSD…
Sioux Falls, South Dakota (6/4/2026) – Prairie Farms is bringing fresh, wholesome milk to South Dakota families facing hunger this June in honor of National Dairy Month, helping ensure more households have access to nutritious, protein-rich dairy products.
Protein-rich foods like dairy are essential to a balanced diet, but they’re less likely to be purchased when budgets get tight. That’s why Prairie Farms’ gift to Feeding South Dakota during National Dairy Month is so impactful. In addition to donating a truckload of milk, all donations made to the food bank during the month of June will be matched by Prairie Farms for the purpose of purchasing dairy products.
“Prairie Farms and Feeding South Dakota have had a long-standing relationship, by bringing awareness and supplying support to fight food insecurity across our state. It’s a very important cause for both organizations,” says John Cooper, General Manager of Prairie Farms.
From farm to table, this partnership helps make fresh, nutritious dairy products possible for families facing hunger across South Dakota.
The milk donation will be delivered to Feeding South Dakota’s Sioux Falls warehouse on June 8th, where it will be distributed to communities across the state through mobile distributions and community partners.
“Milk is an affordable source of 13 essential nutrients, and when you support this match, you are helping provide families and children with access to wholesome dairy. This donation helps ensure neighbors across South Dakota can continue to receive healthy, nourishing staples they can rely on,” explains John Cooper.
With rising living costs, higher fuel costs, and continued economic pressure on households, more South Dakotans are turning to Feeding South Dakota’s programs and community partners for support. This milk donation helps fill critical gaps and meet the need for nutritious food across the state.
We are incredibly grateful for Prairie Farms’ continued partnership and commitment to helping families across South Dakota access nutritious food,” says Susanne Gale, Senior Development Officer at Feeding South Dakota. “Fresh dairy products like milk are highly requested items and can make a meaningful difference for children and families experiencing hunger. This matching campaign will help provide more wholesome, nourishing food to neighbors across the state, especially throughout the summer months.”
Feeding South Dakota is the state’s largest hunger-relief organization, serving families, children, and seniors in all 66 counties through its partners and programs. Working alongside donors, volunteers, and policymakers, Feeding South Dakota is committed to addressing immediate needs while advancing long-term solutions to end hunger in South Dakota.
