BLACK HILLS, SD (KELO.com) — Production was down, but revenues were up for South Dakota’s only active, large-scale gold mine last year. Wharf Mine produced over 97-thousand ounces of gold, selling $334-million worth of gold. The company paid the state nearly $17-million in severance taxes during the year.
