Oct 11 (Field Level Media) – Sacramento Kings center Maxime Raynaud sustained an apparently serious right knee injury in the second quarter of a preseason loss to the host Golden State Warriors on Saturday night in San Francisco.
Raynaud was hurt while setting a screen for teammate Darius Acuff Jr. on Warriors guard Stephen Curry with 2:32 before halftime. As they collided, the 7-foot-1 center yelled in pain and crumpled to the floor. He was examined by medical staff and eventually was helped up, put in a wheelchair and exited the court to the locker room.
The second-year player got tests on the knee in Chase Center, including the X-ray room, at halftime. The Kings announced in the third quarter that he was out for the rest of the game with a right knee injury.
Sacramento did not have an update on his injury after the game, which Golden State won 111-106. Raynaud, 23, told reporters he was set to undergo an MRI late Saturday and was seen leaving the arena on crutches, per reports.
Raynaud collected 10 points, five rebounds, one assist and one block in nine minutes as a reserve on Saturday. He was 3-for-3 from the field, including 1-for-1 on 3-point attempts.
Sacramento selected the native of Paris in the second round of the 2025 NBA Draft out of Stanford. As a rookie, Raynaud averaged 12.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 26.5 minutes in 74 games (56 starts). He was selected to the All-Rookie second team.
